Flying in and out of Guyana
Coming from my involuntary, airline-imposed layover in Trinidad & Tobago, I flew in with heavy rain clouds. The day after my arrival in Georgetown was pretty much a loss. It rained most of the day. The way out was a little better and took me to another airline-imposed layover in Curacao. This one at least long enough to actually leave the airport and take a few pictures. |

A talented photographer friend of mine, Ardath Winterowd (she's on Flickr), took another cloud picture of mine from that flight and turned it into an enchanting B&W image. |

Georgetown, in some fashion, stretches along the river from city to airport, about 40 km away |

At the airport I piled into a local (mini) bus that takes you into town for $2.50 instead of $20-25 for a taxi. I tried hard to not inconvenience my neighbor, squeezing next to her with my two packs. |
